Lord Mayor of León
It is a pleasure to welcome the members of the Fédération Internationale des Clubs de Motorhomes (FICM-IFCM) and specially the organizing motorhome club LLEURE CAMPER CLUB CATALUNYA, for the choice of the city of León for the celebratIon of the 40 EUROCC 2017. It is a pride León is the first province capital to welcome this important motorhome event, and I am sure that León and its inhabitants will not deceive you.
You could not have made a better choice of the date for visiting our town during the Holy Week, some days to appreciate its processions, culture, heritage, gastronomy, monuments, and moreover, its inhabitants. You should know that our Holy Week is recognized as of International Turistic Interest for its artistic heritage, traditions, fervor, and spirit of conservation.
You arrive at León from different places in Europe, in a city that the Unesco has named “The cradle of Parliamentarism” and this year, in 2017, is celebrating the millenium of the Chart of León, the 48 dispositions claimed in 1017 by King Alfonse V, considered as the first recopilation of the citizens fundamental rights in the story of Europe.
Its past and story make of León a kingdom of cultures, and confirm the way of life of the inhabitants of León, that always welcome the visitors with open arms.
I invite you to enjoy this week, León being your home, a town to live, to be discovered, where you can walk and taste, a town to feel and to enjoy.

Dear motorhome Friends,
It is a great satisfaction for me that our club, the LLEURE CAMPER CLUB CATALUNYA, of which I am President, is the host of this 40th motorhome rally EUROCC 2017 LEON, sponsored by the Fédération Internationale des Clubs de Motorhomes (FICM-IFCM).
A big challenge, and being conscious of the importance of the event, we dedicate every effort and a lot of illusion to it, in order to have a nice celebration that all of us will enjoy and of which we shall keep a souvenir during a long time.
For this aim, we have at our disposal an exceptional place, the century old town of LEÓN, that will meet our expectations, and the date of the rally that coincides with the Holy Week, recognized of “touristic interest”. A nice city is waiting for us, with lots of animation. These will be some very special days, with plenty of activities.
I want to thank the Lord Major of León, Mr. Antonio Silván Rodriguez, for the collaboration with his government team, to ensure that our 40 EUROCC 2017 LEÓN is a reality and a great celebration.

Dear motorhome friends,
This year we are meeting in León (Spain) to celebrate the 40th International motorhome rally EUROCC with our member LLEURE CAMPER CLUB CATALUNYA.
This great rally of various countries is always a big challenge for the organizar and the volunteers’ team. More than 10 languages, different ways of living and schedules, we share the same passion: the motorhome, that takes us thousands of miles away from home to discover new places, to share experiences together with friends that have the same hobby.
In the FICM-IFCM clubs and federations, we do not only share experiences, but we contribute to the respect and the defense of the rights of the motorhomist as an automobilist, for a free circulation and a parking according to the category of our vehicle on the public places. Our FICM-IFCM members collaborate with the local, regional and national authorities, whereas the FICM-IFCM is the interlocutor on international level, in the European Union as well as in other institutions.
As well as the user of a car, the motorhome driver may be a good itinerant turist, but he should have in mind that his motorhome is ruled by the Traffic Regulations.
In Europe, travelling by motorhome is in fashion. The development perspectives confirm it, but the problems increase (limited access to the big cities, limited or prohibited traffic/parking on public places, an inadecuate driving license, etc.). We must continue to work hard all together.
With these reflexions, you will certainly understand better the need to be united and the importance to transmit the motorhome spirit in order to increase the number of clubs and federations. Union makes force.
I thank the organizer club and all the volunteers, the Town Hall of León, and all the collaborators of this 40th EUROCC.
